Why Don't You Radio Home?
Another late night post to keep the habit. I have a good post bouncing inside my brain, one like those carefree days of two summers ago when it seemed like creative ideas poured out of my brain with every new experience.... but I promised myself I would go to bed early tonight. It was one of those promises that begins just before the lights go out the night before - an oath that this won't happen again: no more listless clicking and scrolling, more dreaming and snoring. At the crack of the alarm clock, the promise begins anew. This time, the early-to-bed promise is coupled with a new dedication to a post-work nap. Napping is sort of like flossing, nothing but a good intention.
But before long, the mid-day sun, and the cold walk home causes eyes to open. After work projects, commitments and schedules cause even the best promises to be forgotten.
So tonight, with this post - the promise begins again. The definition of a cycle is something that can be broken. Otherwise, its infinity. And this isn't infinity. Because tonight will be different.
Music: Craig Cardiff - Judy Garland (You're Never Home...). buy it.
